GOLF:

BHS Girls Golf hosted Redmond High School on a beautiful day and may have taken 2nd place yesterday, but we had our best score yet – 265! Okay, to be fair, we were missing one player, but we're always looking for rays of sunshine in a spring sport. Sofia McCallum (9) hit a personal best 53 and earned herself 4 KingCo points. Katherine Choi (12) hit a 54 and got 3 KingCo points. Redmond also had a few players new to the game and everyone had fun. Clara Smith (12) and Sam Tuttle (9) played some great shots, with Sam taking only three shots from 150yds in on the 8th hole. And here is another of their great shots:

TENNIS

The lady Cougs traveled to North Creek yesterday and let's just say there was a lot of learning going on. Even though we were down a couple players I am proud of the team and the way they competed.

Maddy Arians stepped up to play singles and Alannah Sandine has some great points against a State competitor. Now it's back to competing today against division leading Redmond.

BADMINTON

Takes the W on the road against Snohomish.

Badminton is wrapping up it's regular season, so you have one more chance to catch a match on Friday 4/19.

TENNIS:

Bothell JV tennis suffered a tough defeat to Inglemoor 0-6 but won in Exhibition matches 3 -1   Third singles Katlyn Tungselt lost a close match 5-8.    Exhibition winners included doubles teams Janhavi Kadam and Aishani Agrawal 6-3, Katelyn Tungseth and Arielle McGuire 6-3 and Sofia Barrientos Sandoval and Clara Falsis 6-4.   Aafreen Aafreen and Giada Benitez almost overcame their opponent but lost 4-6.

FAST PITCH:

Cougars Fastpitch won their 3rd 1 run game this year in dramatic fashion as Anna Fowler hit a hard ground ball off the pitcher's leg with the bases loaded last night scoring pinch runner Noelle Solvang to give the cougars a 7-6 win over North Creek. The cougars improved their Kingco record to 8-0

The game had 6 lead changes as both teams kept coming back from deficits.

After giving up a run in the first inning, the Cougars put 3 on the board in the bottom of the 1st to make it 3-1. The big hit was a single to left field by Camdyn O’Neal.

North Creek scored a run in the 3rd and 2 runs in the 4th to make the score 4-3 North Creek. The cougars scored 2 runs in the 5th inning to regain the lead 5-4.

North Creek scored 2 runs in the top of the 6th to re-take the lead 6-5 but Bothell scored a run in the bottom of the inning on a 2 out basehit to RF by Julia Radvick.

North Creek got 2 runners on right away in the top of the 7th and after a wild pitch moved the runners to 2nd and 3rd with only 1 out, the Cougars were in a jam. The next batter ripped a line drive at Shortstop Anna Fowler who snagged it for the second out. If that ball was 3 inches higher it would have scored 2 runs but Anna made a huge play. Then Camdyn struck out North Creeks 3 hitter to end the inning.

Camdyn O’Neal led off the bottom of the 7th with a sharp single up the middle. Noelle Solvang pinch ran for Camdyn. Then after an out Eleanor Craker laced a single up the middle to put runners at 1st and 3rd. North Creek intentionally walked Jill Parrish to load the bases. That’s when Anna hit her hard hit off the pitcher to plate Noelle to give Bothell the 7-6 win.

Kolbi Schmer, Camdyn O’Neal, and Jill Parrish led Bothell with 2 hits a piece. Berlin Roberts, Addison Hall, and Camdyn O’Neal all pitched in the game as this was a quality team win.
