FOOTBALL:

FRESHMAN FOOTBALL:  The Bothell Cougars took on the visiting Skyline Spartans at home last night.  Bothell came out on top early scoring on a long run on the second play of the game by Tyler Wells.  Hudson Hawn's PAT kick was good.   Skyline went on a long offensive drive and scored but missed the PAT to make it 7-6 Bothell.  The young Cougars bounced back and with a mix of passing and running, Tyler Wells ran in for his second TD.  Hudson's PAT made the score 14-6.  The next kick off their was a little mix up on where we wanted to kick the ball and the coverage we were in.  It turned out to be a costly mistake and Skyline's best athlete ran the Kick off return all the back to make it 14-12 Bothell, after Skyline was denied a 2 point conversion.  Bothell wasn't able to do much on their next possession and had to punt the ball away.  Skyline put the ball in the endzone on the last play of the half to make it 14-18.  The third quarter Skyline got the ball and drove down inside Bothell's 10 before tunring the ball over on downs.  The Bothell Defense was getting really physical up front and started dominationg the line of scrimmage.  Lead by Liam Scherber, Dalton Tachell, Bryan Quinn and Archer Purvis.  Linebackers Tua Baker and David Ellis were delivering some hard hits to the Skyline ball carriers.  The next few possessions both teams were unable to do much until Skyline got a few big runs to score late in the game and make it 14-25.  Bothell got the back and Tillman Hutton lead the offense quickly down the field  and scored on a pass to Colin Moore.  The Cougars went for 2 and converted on another pass to Moore to make 22-25 Skyline With only a few minuts left in the game Hudson Hawn kicked the perfect on side kick and Colin Moore was able to come up with the ball to give the Cougars one last chance.  The score was 22-25 and we have Hudson who can easily make a 30 yard field goal if we can get close enough.  A few plays into Bothell's last drive Skyline was able to pick off Hutton to end the game.  The Young Cougars get their first loss of the season 22-25.  We were so proud of how we never gave up and kept in the fight and made the most of our opportunities.   This Team is getting better every day!
