Senior Timeline -- Class of 2020
All students participating in the graduation ceremony, including students in Running Start or other outside programs, need to pay particular attention to the following dates. Seniors and parents are encouraged to heck the BHS Class of 2020 webpage and the BHS Events Calendar for ongoing and updated news and information as we proceed throught he school year. Note that student fines & fees must be paid or cleared before students may purchase any event tickets such as Homecoming, Prom, Commencement, etc. or pick up their cap & gown, yearbook and/or participate in sports or the Commencement Ceremony.
23 - 28 Homecoming week: Dance ticket sales, assembly & game on Friday, Sept. 27; Dance on Saturday, Sept. 28
By 9/30 Counselors notify seniors and partents of missing graduation requirements
3 Curriculum Night - 6:00pm in BHS Gym
7 Financial Aid Night - 7pm NPAC
11 Senior Class Meeting during Club Time, NPAC regarding upcoming events, grad announcements, Jostens gear, etc.
17 - 18 Jostens on campus in The Commons during lunch for cap & gown and graduation announcement orders
21 Picture Retake Day in The Commons
31 Deadline to register & pay for AP Exams taking place in the spring -- visit
1 Senior yearbook photos due by 5:00pm. Email them to Ms. Conklin at
6 Nick of Tme - Free Heart Screenings
23 - Jan 3 Winter Break
23 - 24 First Semester Finals - Thursday, Jan. 23 periods 1, 3, 5 & 7; Friday, Jan. 24 periods 2, 4, 6 & 7.
Early Counselors notify seniors and parents by mail of missing graduation requirements

23 - 24 Graduation Announcements distributed in The Commons during lunches and after school. Direct questions regarding orders to Jostens at 1-800-JOSTENS (567-8367). Unclaimed orders available in Counseling office.
27 - May 6 Prom Ticket Sales during lunch in The Commons. Ticket prices $XX w/ASB Card, $XX w/o ASB Card & $XX for guests (cash or checks only). ALL fines and fees must be paid to purchase tickets. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door. Guest Forms will NOT be accepted at the door.
1 Grade check for seniors not on track to graduation. After mid-term testing, counselors will send parents a letter of notification to those seniors failing a required course or missing graduation requirements. These students will be placed on a Commencement Ceremony non-participation list.
1 National deadline for accepting college admission offers. Be sure to notify colleges of non-acceptance as well as acceptance of the college of your choice; please also select your attending college in Naviance.
4 - 15 District Advance Placement (AP) Exams -- see details & schedule on BHS website
8 Senior DUI presentation
9 Senior Prom, 7pm to 10pm at Seattle Aaquarium
TBD Counselors visit Senior Issues classes to hand out & COLLECT Post High School Plan (aka Senior Survey), Final Transcript Requests and Senior Awards forms. These forms must be returned to the Counseling Office NO LATER than May 26th.
TBD Night of the Arts at 7pm in The Commons
TBD Honor Society Induction at 6:30pm in the NPAC; doors open at 6pm

26 Last day to notify Counseling Office of academic awards or scholarships received for recognition in the Commencement Program.
29 Senior Class Meeting re: Commencement Expectations during Club Time in NPAC
29 - 30 Spring Night Club, 7pm in the Gym
1 All independent online & out-of-district coursework must be completed. Ann 'Add to Transcript' form must be completed, signed & submitted along with an Official Transcript to the Counseling Office. Participation in Commencement Ceremony may be in jeopardy for coursework received after this date.
1 - 12 Senior Breakfast Ticket Sales from the BHS Cashier window. Tickets: $XX w/ ASB Card, $XX w/o ASB Card (cash or checks only)
3 - 4 Caps & gowns distributed by Jostens during lunch and after school in The Commons. Caps & gowns cannot be decorated in any way or you will be required to purchase a new one. Please direct questions regarding your order from Jostens to 1-800-JOSTENS. Unclaimed orders will be available in the Counseling Office.
4 - 5 Five Complimentary Commencement tickets available from the Counseling Office for each graduate
- Fines & feels must be paid or cleared
- Student must be designated on track for graduation
- Additional tickets may be purchased for $5 each (cash or check only) from the BHS Cashier or online. Tickets
purchased online need to be picked up from the BHS Cashier with proof of purchase.
5 COUGAR DAY! Senior Yearbook distribution and signing party from 2:30 - 3:30pm in room 105. Fines & fees must be paid to receive your yearbook. Check posted fine list.

12 Senior Breakfast in BHS Commons.
12 Senior Memories Assembly in Gym at approximately TBD. Staff & students will attend the assembly. Students who were previously failing, are now passing a required course, and have met all other graduation requirements will be reinstated to the Commencement Roster and may participate in the Commencement Ceremony. Students will be notified of reinstatement by the Counseling Department. If your student is not reinstated, they will not participate in the Commencement Ceremony. Final day for seniors to pay or clear fines before Commencement. Diplomas and final transcripts are held until ALL fines are paid or cleared.
15 Commencement Day! Collaborative early release schedule for Commencement Ceremony.
- Seniors must be dropped off at BHS by TBD
- All seniors must ride district transportation to the arena
- Graduates must ride home with parents/guardians. There will not be a return bus after the ceremony
- Doors open to ticket holders at TBD
