Mr. Philip Dean
Philip Dean is currently serving his sixth year as Instrumental Music Director at Bothell High School. Mr. Dean is in direction of the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Chamber Orchestra, String Orchestra, Full Symphony Orchestra and Jazz Band here at BHS. BHS has a strong tradition of excellence and Mr. Dean is honored at the opportunity to be a part of such a storied program. Recently the BHS Wind Ensemble has been invited to perform at the 2014 Music For All National Concert Band Fesival in Indianapolis Indiana. The Wind Ensemble performed at the 2013 National Association for Music Education Northwest Division Conference in February 2013. The Chamber Orchestra highlighted performances include the 2011 MENC Northwest Division Conference in February 2011, Midwest Clinic performance in December 2011.
Along with being a full time teacher Mr. Dean enjoys being an active musician. Mr. Dean is currently the Principal Trombone player for the Seattle Wind Symphony. He has served as Principal Trombone for the Yakima Symphony Orchestra and Second Trombone for the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra in Indiana.
Mr. Dean has a Bachelor's Degree from the Central Washington University in Trombone Performance. Also, he holds a Master of Music degree in music conducting. He also enjoys running, golfing, and spending time with his daughter Kathleen(Katie) Rebekah Dean.
